One time my girlfriend surprised me by flying across almost the entire country to see me for my graduation from basic training. Not a lot of couples go through what we have been through. We’ve had our fights, shitty phone calls, stressful days and both made our share of mistakes. But every single chance I had to visit her, I took. The goodbye’s were absolutely terrible, it was honestly easier to say goodbye to my family. We have been friends for a really long time, shared secrets and grown close over the years. Over those years I met her family (who have been nothing but amazing and loving to me), rode the bus home with her, had a few classes in high school with her, fallen in love with her and as of a year and a month ago today, began dating her. Her letters got be through basic training. Although she doubts it from time to time, I think she is the love of my life. I will continue to do everything I can to preserve a relationship with this girl. I love you Dannah Rose Sanchez.

I don’t know what inspired me to post this, maybe the excitement of finally being reunited, finally not having thousands of miles between us.
